Prior to his current post, he clerked at two highly respected family law firms in Chicago, where he became the zealous advocate he is today, and his time as a 711 student-attorney at the UIC John Marshal Law School Family Law and Domestic Violence Clinic taught him the intricacies of representing victims of domestic violence. Throughout, he dedicated himself to as many aspects of family law as he could, confident that a breadth of knowledge would make him the best possible ally, and in doing so brought to court orders of protection, maintenance, child support, and even allocation of parental responsibilities.
Rooted in curiosity, compassion, and corporate expertise, Cora Gennerman’s legal advocacy is equal parts zealous and distinct.
Originally from northern Wisconsin, Cora earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and her law degree at Chicago’s DePaul University College of Law. In law school, Cora also worked at a highly respected medical malpractice firm. But it was in her time with the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services where she found her passion for helping children and their loved ones.
When away from the office, Cora can be found playing intramural soccer or snuggling with her three spoiled cats and their foster friends from Chicago Cat Rescue. She also rocks the cello at worship events and plans to play violin with the Chicago Bar’s Symphony Orchestra.
